Welcome to Fourah Bay College - University of Sierra Leone
The New University Act of 2005 has ushered in a reconstituted University of Sierra Leone comprising Fourah Bay College (FBC), College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) and the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM). The Act has also provided changes in the educational structure of Sierra Leone, and restructured an organizational review. The publication of this booklet, containing guidelines on the modular system of assessment is indeed timely.
With the modular system now accepted and adopted, it is most appropriate that the University of Sierra Leone seized this opportunity to follow the modern trends of assessment in University education worldwide. The modular system of assessment is viewed by most educators and University administrators as a system with much more transparency and accuracy in assessing students' performance.
Venturing into the modular system in the University of Sierra Leone did not come without its problems. I must therefore, commend all those whose efforts and expertise have resulted in the successful publication of these very important guidelines. Lecturers and University Administrators, being the best judges of effective instructional materials and instruments of assessment have thus efficiently put together such a wonderful piece of work for Fourah Bay College which will no doubt be very useful for University education in Sierra Leone since the entire curricula under taken at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone is uniquely provided in this small booklet.
This website has been organised in a way that is easy and simple to follow by students, parents, lecturers and any interested person wishing to pursue courses in the University of Sierra Leone and/or seeking to verify their grade points.

Of utmost significance is the section that follows which gives a comprehensive compilation of the various subjects and codes, credit hours per course. This section is structured in such a way that it is easy to follow. It is indeed a user-friendly booklet.
The succeeding sections provide the reader with the staff resources of various administrative departments with highlights of extracurricular activities, academic activities and other facilities available in the College.
